Life in Guatemala

Life in Guatemala before Christmas was a crazy season. I was able to go and help bring Christmas to about 300 kids and help share about the birth of our Savior in their public school. It was a really great experience and seeing the joy on their faces was a great Christmas gift.

I was able to spend the holidays back in PA and visit family in Canada. I had a great time visiting friends and family. It was a rejuvenating time and was very refreshing.

Upon my return to Guatemala, I was able to travel around a little with the second grade teacher and her parents who were visiting.

Then, school began again last Monday. We have had a good first week back and the students have been excited to have a new student teacher with us. I am excited too, because it will give me some time to work on the required continuing education classes.

This Friday is Daddy Picnic Day, where dad’s come to eat lunch with their kids. The kids seem to really enjoy this time. We also have reading week coming up next week and our theme is traveling the world. My classroom is the one traveling to Norway.

My car situation is good. We were able to get things repaired and I have been given the green light.

We also have been having warm water in our apartment, which has been a huge blessing because the temperatures have not been really high the past few weeks. They are still working on our water leak/wall damage issue, but that has not really affected our daily living.

We did have another scorpion in our apartment…a big one….in my bedroom…before going to bed. I had a nice long conversation with God about that one.

Despite that, I am looking forward to this new year and am excited for all God has planned. I can’t wait to be a part of it!

Student Spotlight

Sarah: I like art and I am a bit crazy. One thing that I have learned about God recently is that God s omnipresent which means He is with us all the time. Please pray that I would do well in school and in gymnastics.
Mikayla: I like to roller skate and I do not enjoy doing chores. My favorite bible story that I like to share with others is Jesus dying on the cross for us. Please pray that I would have a peaceful friendship with one of my friends.

Prayer Requests
